As a Survey Technician, you will be responsible for assisting in the collection and analysis of survey data and preparing accurate plats and drawings.
The ideal candidate will have experience with AutoCAD software, be proficient in drafting techniques, and possess strong knowledge of surveying principles.
Valley Engineering is a certified Small Business in the state of VA but we are growing and expanding our surveying department.
We have been in business since 1997 and offer surveying services, civil, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering, as well as landscape architecture, commissioning, and project management.

Responsibilities:
- Analyze field survey data to ensure accuracy and completeness - Prepare detailed worksheets, drawings, and schematics using AutoCAD software such as Carlson Survey - Prepare survey layout data for Field crews - Assist in the preparation of land surveying projects and the calculation for construction layout projects.
- Collaborate with surveyors and engineers to ensure project requirements are met
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Survey Technician or related role preferred - Proficient in AutoCAD software such, Carlson, or Civil 3D - Familiarity with Site Plans, Road Plans, VDOT standards, House plans and Structural drawings - Strong understanding of surveying principles and techniques - Knowledge of geometry and trigonometry for accurate measurements - Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing project requirements in a team environment If this sounds like you, we encourage you to apply.
