Job Description
Safety CoordinatorThe successful candidate will:
Conduct field and shop inspections to ensure employees are equipped with the tools necessary to work safely.
Complete post incident investigations for injuries, illnesses and vehicle incidents.
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations at all job sites.
Complete and maintain documents as necessary to comply with federal, state and company requirements.
Review documents submitted from the field, for example, pre-task planning forms, jobsite safety inspections and various work permits.
Provide assistance with work activities that require permits.
Accompany employees to medical facilities for appointments and drug/alcohol screenings.
Assist in developing monthly newsletter articles; safety committee and roundtable meeting agendas, and weekly tool box talks.
Participate in safety committee and roundtable meetings; assist with administration of safety incentive programs.
Provide individual and group training such as new hire safety orientation, first aid/CPR; assist with OSHA 10 training.
Serve as safety resource for OSHA compliance and company safety policies.
Communicate with physicians, health care institutions and insurance carriers to maximize company case management initiatives
Educational Requirements and
Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or safety related field of study.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to climb stairs/ladders to access job/project site areas as needed.
Other Requirements:
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Knowledge of OSHA construction regulations
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong decision making, organizational and administrative skills
Maintain prompt and regular attendance
Ability to work on a team and interact with people
Ability to develop solutions to safety related issues
Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driver qualification policy
