Job Description:
Client's Meat Solutions in Mount Crawford, VA has an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Technician. This position will provide technical support to all CTCM locations by conducting microbiological and chemical analyses as needed and directed by the Technical Services Management Team. This position ensures compliance with Clients' quality standards as well as USDA regulatory standards.
Principle Accountabilities
o 50%--Perform microbiological and/or chemical analyses on ingredients, raw materials, finished products, equipment and production environment
o 25%--Perform internal quality assurance analyses to ensure generation of accurate data
o 15%-- Provide accurate documentation for all lab operations
o 10%--Any other duties as assigned by supervisor or management
Requirements:
o Bachelor degree in biology, chemistry, or related field or 1-2 years' experience in related laboratory work
o Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
o Basic understanding of the metric system and statistics
o Solid oral and written communication skills
o Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
o Position requires the ability to work overtime and weekends as needed
Candidate will need to pass a background check, drug test, and take a lift test ( must be able to lift 50lbs)Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
